My Bio
I am a visual artist, who has spent most of my artistic career drawing and painting. More recently, however, I have started prowling about with my camera again, being inspired to look at life through the lens by my 3 children who are all Artists with a camera.

Why oh Why does it always have to be so hard to get one's body in gear, take out the camera, and shoot some photos?  It isn't because of a lack of subject, or opportunity.  If anyone has any ideas on how to self motivate during the dog days of summer let me know.  Otherwise, I am just going to continue to kick back and enjoy a cool one!

Every once and awhile, it suits your purpose as a growing and developing artist, to review your portfolio and really look at your work with a critical eye.  Ask yourself some honest and pertinent questions as you examine your work, such as: "How does my work compare to my peers?" "Am I going in the direction that I have envisioned?" "Could I benefit from some technical growth?" and most importantly... "Am I getting boring, narrow and repetitive with my art?" Behind The Lens

Many years ago, I would walk around with my trusty Chinon, taking pictures while my hubby fished.  It was easier than hauling around art supplies, considering much of the areas the husband fished were way off the beaten path.  I was not ever much into Plein Art (painting on site), much preferring to paint or draw in the comfort of my own studio, not fighting with the elements. Most of my photos were taken with the idea of using them as resources.
